HIGHLIGHTS: Quick Start Leads Cougars To Victory

Ethan O’Rourke scored two first period goals to lead the past Kamloops 5 – 4.  The Cougars surprised the hometown Blazers with a quick start, jumping out to a 3 – 0 lead after 20 minuties. But it was Kody McDonald’s shorthanded goal at 16:38 of the third period that turned out to be the winner.

Cole Moberg and Brogan O’Brien also scored for the Cougars while Tavin Grant stopped 27 of 31 shots. 

Jermaine Loewen, Quinn Benjafield, Nick Chyzowski and Garrett Pilon, with a goal and two assists, scored for the Blazers, who remain in the basement of the West Division, four points behind Prince George.

The Cougars return to CN Centre for their next four games, beginning with a Friday, Saturday doubleheader against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
