PRINCE GEORGE — As it has done in the past five years, awards were handed out from Crime Stoppers today as part of Crime Stoppers Month.
Each year the Crime Stoppers Award is handed to an individual officer as well as one of the Watch Commands for their use of the anonymous tip line to solve crimes. Last year, Crime Stoppers received 565 tips which resulted in 24 arrests. This year, Constable Don Kwak and “A” Watch were recognized for their work involving Crime Stoppers that ultimately yielded results from the program.
Crime Stoppers is also doing a fundraising event in conjunction with Don Cherry’s. Go to the eatery and order a Crime Stoppers burger and $3 from the sale will go to Crime Stoppers.
