PRINCE GEORGE – Former Prince George Mayor Shari Green is back in politics.  She’s announced she will seek the Conservative party nomination in the riding of South Surrey – White Rock.

Green made the announcement Monday afternoon on a facebook post.  “I am excited to finally share that I am seeking the Conservative Party’s nomination in South Surrey-White Rock for the 2019 federal election,” said Green’s post.

The South Surrey – White Rock seat is now held by Liberal Gordon Hogg.  He won it in a by-election recently.  The by-election was called after Conservative Dianne Watts stepped down to run for the leadership of the BC Liberal party.

Green served as a Prince George City Councillor from 2008 to 2011.  She won the Mayor’s seat in 2011.  Her three-year term was marked by a civic core review and the first city workers strike in history.
