PRINCE GEORGE – A decades-long volunteer with the Spruce Kings has passed away.  Malcolm Poburan had been working in the Kings equipment room for nearly 40 years, as an Equipment Manager as an Assistant to the Equipment Manager.

Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes says it is a sad day for the hockey club.  “Our organization is not where it is today without people like Malcolm. He was loved by all the players and staff that have come through this organization over the years.”  Hawes added, “He will be remembered for his sense of humour but also for his commitment and dedication to the team. He will forever be a Spruce King.”

Poburan’s health had been failing him in his final years but he was able to attend Game three of the BCHL final recently.  Poburan passed away peacefully Tuesday morning.
