Food For Fare A Success

PRINCE GEORGE – Instead of paying cash for the bus ride today, Transit accepted a different fare.

Mayor Lyn Hall and members of the Salvation Army were on hand to receive food donations at its 18th Avenue location. Non-perishable food donations were accepted throughout the day to ride the bus. A total of 79 pounds of food was collected over the course of the day and Roy Law with the Salvation Army says every little bit of help at this time of year helps.

“Anything that provides us with some more food that we can give out to the people in the community in need,  is useful.”

He says they need all kinds of food items, but stuff that is higher in protein to hand out instead of meats.
