Vanderhoof Under Air Quality Advisory

Dec 28, 2018 | 9:06 AM

VANDERHOOF — High concentrations of particulate matter have prompted an air quality advisory for Vanderhoof.

This advisory is in effect until further notice. The Ministry of Environment and Northern Health says persons with chronic underlying conditions should postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted.

Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes and lung or heart disease.

The Ministry says the high particulate matter concentrations in Vanderhoof (35.7) are resulting from the combination of local and regional emissions and poor dispersion.
