Cariboo Cougars Compete In Calgary

CALGARY – The Cariboo Cougars will be heading into day three of the Mac’s Tournament in Calgary on Sunday with one tie, one win and one loss. 

On Friday the Cougars took on the Brampton 45’s and the game started out slow. The first period was scoreless, but in the second the Cariboo squad put four shot into the back of Brampton’s net. The goals came from Arnold Max, Ochitwa Alexander, Herrington John and Thomas Grady. The final score was 4-3 for the Cougars with two goals from the Brampton 45’s in the second period and one in the third. 

On Saturday, it was the Lethbridge Hurricanes Midget Triple-A team that the Cougars were up against. Lethbridge came out strong, pushing the score to 2-0 by the end of the first period. By the end of 40 minutes, it was 4-1 for the Hurricanes but the Cougars did score once more before the end of the game to make it 4-2 with goals from Curtis Hammond and Grady Thomas. 

The Cariboo Cougars next matchup is on Sunday at 2:30 pm against the Swift Current Legionnaires in Calgary.
