Cougars Fall To Spokane

PRINCE GEORGE – The Cougars two-game win streak was snapped last night in Spokane against the Chiefs.

The Cats got themselves into penalty trouble early and the Chiefs were able to score on the powerplay five minutes in before netting another on the man advantage shortly after.

Cougars’ defenseman Joel Lakutsa would cut the deficit in half by scoring his fifth of the season just 31 seconds into the second period. The Chiefs would respond later in the period with a goal from Luc Smith.

The Cougars would press hard in the dying seconds of the third and with their goalie pulled, Josh Maser would cut the lead back down to one. It wouldn’t be enough though as the Chiefs’ Jake McGrew would add an empty netter to seal the deal.
