Is Tourism PG Moving?

PRINCE GEORGE – As with so many visits before Council, Tourism Prince George was asked if there is any appetite by its Board to relocate to a place closer to its former location at the intersection of Highways 16 and 97.

Currently, the Visitor Information Centre is located on First Avenue in the VIA Rail building.

Erica Hummel, Tourism Prince George CEO, says both locations have their pros and cons. While Tourism PG likes the idea of being in the downtown, it misses a great deal of the rubber tire traffic moving north-south along Highway 97.

However, the former location was very challenging to access and, with rubber tire traffic forming the majority of tourism in the city, access is important.
