The Cougars have finally snapped their losing streak at 17 games after a 2-1 shootout win in Kamloops last night. The win was their first one in 41 days and first since beating Kelowna on January 12th.

Josh Maser had the Cougars only goal in regulation as he scored his team-leading 23rd goal on the power play close to halfway through the first period. It would stay 1-0 Cougars until the third period where Zane Franklin would tie the game up.

After overtime solved nothing a shootout was needed and the Cougars made quick work of that. Ethan Browne and Vladislav Mikhalchuk while the Blazers missed their two attempts. Taylor Gauthier was lights out for the Cougars stopping 41 of 42 shots for the win while Dylan Ferguson stopped 31 of 32 for the Blazers.

The Cougars will look to put a win streak together now as they travel to Everett to take on the Silvertips tonight at 7 p.m.
