Nancy Greene Raine wasn’t the only former Olympian in town this weekend either. Kurt Innes, Olympic cyclist at the 1992 Summer Olympics, was set up at the Northern Sports Centre Sunday morning to lead the RBC Training Grounds, giving local athletes a shot at realizing their Olympic potential. Approximately 60 athletes were evaluated Sunday morning during a series of physical assessments measuring speed, strength, endurance, and power. The RBC Training Ground program evaluates athletes aged 14-25 in 32 cities across Canada in hopes of finding future Olympians. The top athletes from each area move on for more testing.
