PRINCE GEORGE — A major shot in the arm for the new engineering program at UNBC.

Advanced Education Minister Melanie Mark announced an investment of $3.5 million dollars in new learning facilities at the school today.

The funding will help UNBC increase its use of existing classroom space and teaching labs and create a centralized collaboration space for programs starting next September when UNBC students can start their first full civil and environmental engineering degree program in the North.

The Province estimates an additional 2,900 tech-related spaces throughout B.C. will produce 1,000 additional tech grads a year by 2023.
