2020 World Women’s Curling Championship: Volunteers now being accepted

PRINCE GEORGE— The best curlers from around the world will be sliding into Prince George for the 2020 World Women’s Curling Championship. Volunteer applications are now being accepted, and positions are anticipated to fill up quickly for the worldly event.

The Championship will take place March 14-22 in 2020. A variety of volunteer roles are available for media assistance, set-up and takedown, working in the stands during games, and behind the scenes at various checkpoints. Volunteers will also be needed in the party zone, located in the world-famous Patch.

All volunteers are required to pay a $100 rewards fee, which includes:

  • Official volunteer uniform and handbook
  • Limited edition volunteer pin
  • Access to the venue when not on shift (space permitting)
  • Access to the Patch with live entertainment
  • Invitation to the volunteer appreciation party

It was announced Prince George would be hosting the 2020 World Women’s Curling Championship in February. Mayor Lyn Hall said the city is thrilled to showcase the community on an international stage. 

“Thank you to the World Curling Federation and Curling Canada for recognizing that Prince George is an accomplished host city with world-class venues, volunteers, and experiences for athletes,” Hall said, “We are excited to be a part of the global curling community and we look forward to hosting the world’s best women curlers in 2020.”

The 2020 World Women’s Curling Championship will feature thirteen teams, including Team Canada.
