Snowmobile incident during event at Sun Peaks results in one fatality

SUN PEAKS, B.C. — An Alberta man has died after a snowmobile incident at Sun Peaks yesterday (April 20).

In a release, Staff Sgt. Victor Steinhammer says Kamloops RCMP responded to the Sun Peaks area after an incident during the Western Canada Hillcross Tour that resulted in a snowmobiler sustaining serious injuries.

Sgt. Steinhammer says the 28-year-old Alberta resident was airlifted off the mountain to the Medical Center in the resort, where he then passed away due to the injuries.

RCMP have no further information at this time.
